what type of battery is it?
If you are going to extend the life your battery with a single charge, you need to know whatt type of battery you are charging for example Lithium ion batteries ( these are like the ones in your Kindle) these batteries don’t like extreme temperatures. Keeping your tablet in neutral temperatures (preferably room temperature), will extend the batterys operating life. If you live in colder temperatures this will also decrease the batteries life but only temporarily, but extreme hot temperatures can result in permanent battery damage. Try not to allow the battery to become fully drained, charge it regularly, as it has been shown to damage these type batteries.
2. If you have a many applications(apps) in your machine, you might have to find out which one uses the most power. There are some very high power burning apps out there ( the ones that require more processing power and memory) require the most charging to maintain a good battery. Of course, people do not use their Kindle Fire for processing or memory intensive functions , but you need to make sure you only have the apps you need the most. If you cannot get rid of a power-hungry app because you really need it, then at least use it less often.
3You then, of course need to take some basic power-saving measures that work on virtually any sort of battery– not just your tablet. If you lowering the brightness or dimming the back light of the display when there is enough ambient light. Another is thing is you should set the tablet to sleep (or in the Kindle’s case, the auto-lock, which sets it to sleep automatically) whenever it is not in use. This will save you wear on your battery life.
