Gaston Plante makes the first batteries.
At the start of the 17th century , a French physicist named Gaston Plante invented and introduced, the first type of “lead acid” battery.
This first type of battery was able to be dis charged and recharged and was to be the beginning of to- days lead acid batteries and the first battery technology of its kind. His invention relied on lead electrodes dipped in sulphuric acid.
By using this type of wet cell method of technology, his early battery experiments were capable of producing a high current and by reversing the current was able to produce a method of self-charging the early batteries. These spill lead acid batteries were the first batteries to be called “gel cells”. These batteries were filled with the usual sulphuric acid but were mixed with a type of silica powder which formed a stiff solid form of substance very similar to a jelly.
This type of gel substance made the battery more stable when tipped or dropped, therefore much less likely to spill, not like the free flow acid battery. . This new method also meant that the battery was safer to transport, and prevented the batteries from leaking should there be an accident or the battery was tipped over during transportation. A new type of safety feature was added to the batteries in the form of a valve. This valve re- circulated any waste water inside the battery that was produced during charging. Gel batteries also require a different type of charging system, because they can be charged at higher levels. they must be charged at a more constant number of amps. When the battery is charged the charger turns off, then back on again when the the charge drops.

Batteries are now far better
Nowadays improvements on the earlier lead acid battery are always been made, although the earlier prototypes are still the main sort of car battery technology used in manufacturing today. Pennine King Power for cheap batteries
